The Athens Technical College Archives is housed in the Athens Technical College Library and consists of print materials such as reports, working papers, and commercial publications about the college, slides, film, photographs, newspaper clippings, PR related materials, scrapbooks, and ephemera such as plates. Much of the commercially printed material has been cataloged in the library catalog, SIRSI; however, the photographs (approximately, 1000), slides (approximately, 3000), film (VHS, Beta, etc.; approximately 100) and newspaper/media clippings, some loose and some scrapbooked (approximately 1000), have not been cataloged yet.
Print material in this collection spans the establishment of the College in 1956 until the early 1990s.
Your first step is to go to the library catalog. When you find what you need, jot down the call number and take it to the circulation/information desk. Here's how:
If you know words in the title, or the author of an archival document you are looking for, you can type them in and specify which one of those to search.
If you want to see a list of all of our archival materials we have in the catalog,
Click on Power Search
Click on "call number" on the right side of your screen.
Type "atca" in the call number box.
You will get a list of the archival items that we have in the catalog. You can move forward and backwards through the list by clicking next and previous, at the top of the screen.
