Athens Technical College Library: Faculty & staff resources

Welcome faculty! The library exists to support teaching and learning. If there is anything we can do for you, don't hesitate to contact us.

Using the library

Faculty may keep books for a semester.
Books from the Popular collection can be checked out for 2 weeks.
Faculty may keep DVDs for 3 days.

Fines and fees:

Faculty is exempt from regular overdue fines, except in the following situations:

If an overdue book is recalled, the $1.00 per day charge begins the date the book was recalled.

Lost materials: $35 non-refundable processing fee in addition to the cost of replacing the item.

Can't find it?

If you need something from a library on a different ATC campus, contact us and we will get it for you.

If you need something that Athens Tech does not hold at all, please email Qian Fang at with the title, author, and any other useful information (ISBN, etc.) about the item. This is a service provided to ATC students, faculty, and staff.

Library account

To get a library account, complete a library application form or visit the library. Then you are ready to check out library materials.

You can see the status if items you have checked out, place holds, or renew materials by logging on to your library account:

To login to your account, go to the library catalog.

  • The box for your logon and pin is in the upper right corner.
  • Your Login is the entire number on your Athens Tech ID or temporary library card; not just your ATC 910 number.
  • The pin is owl. Note you can change this once you log in the first time.

Copyright information for educators

We all want to make sure that we're being compliant with copyright laws.  Fortunately, as educators, Fair Use covers many things we'd want to do in the classroom. The following have been selected to help you learn more about copyright. If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact  your librarians!

Showing movies on campus

Note that ALL Films on Demand videos are cleared for on campus showing!!! They include public performance rights and can be shown on campus or in the library to students, faculty, patrons, and community members.

Swank Motion Pictures, a distributor of feature films, provides online streaming access to select films via their Digital Campus service through an agreement with ATC Libraries. Contact  Carol Stanley for details. The digital campus FAQ is available here.
