Women's History Month: Home

Books and e-Books

The roots of Women's History Month can be traced back to the 1911 celebration of International Women's Day, a global holiday that takes place on March 8th. Women's Rights activist Laura X (b. 1940) founded the Women's History Research Center in 1969 and in 1980 President Jimmy Carter designated the week of March 8th as Women's History Week.
